metabolic balance Plan – Day 4 Phase 2

Thurs–day and the living is easy.  Fish are jumping, and I could eat some pie.  Hmmm, I don’t think those are the lyrics to the song…..

I feel good enough today to mess with a Gershwin song so you can tell that day four has not been too hard for me.

I just met with my coach (coaches also have coaches), and we discussed one of the benefits I have been feeling this week which is calmness.

I’m a pretty relaxed person but I find that when I’m around people who are angry or grumpy, I start to get stressed. It is as if I’m taking in some of that negative energy and I feel a bit grumpy.  This week, no matter what grumpy or angry person I was standing next to, walking with or standing in front of/or behind in a line, my feelings stayed neutral.  In fact, I found myself saying a few times, “you don’t need to get so worked up about that.”  Amazingly I didn’t get punched in the face this week for making statements like that.  I did find that not absorbing that anger kept me in a much better mood for most of the day and I feel like I was in a Disney movie which was a bit slow and boring.

Dr. Funfack says that about a quarter of the people on metabolic balance are using the program for their emotional health not to lose weight.  I’m seeing how this works and I’m telling you, if you are feeling like your emotions are going all over the place, or are in a funk, changing your diet will help!  If you need scientific proof, read this, this and this.

I’m happy to report that there were no food challenges today.  I found that it was pretty easy to go to a coffee shop and not order coffee but to sit and drink a glass of bottled water instead.  In fact, I didn’t miss the coffee at all today and I am finding that amazing.  I also find it amazing that I can drink water without lemon or limes.  I still miss them but I’m doing OK without the added flavor. (Here is an explanation of why you should not drink water with a lime/lemon in it)

I did notice that my lips are getting really dry.  Usually if your lips are dry it means you are dehydrated but since I am drinking almost 3L of water a day, I’m thinking they are dry from the lack of oil in my diet.

Note so self:  No oil means use chapstick.
