Today is Saturday. My usual routine is to walk downtown and have a coffee with my best friend but he wasn’t in town and since I’m on the metabolic balance plan phase 2, random cups of coffee are not allowed.
Instead, I worked on the blog to keep busy. I created diary pages so you can keep track of what you’re eating. (I will have one diary page for everyday of phase 2. You will be able to find them at the bottom of the blog posts and also in the goodie bag section of the website.)
Today, when it was time to eat, I ate the following:
Breakfast – Cheese, Apple and Bread
Lunch – Poached eggs and bread
For dinner, I ate a DISASTER!
Yes, I’m not exaggerating. It was a disaster. I tried to be creative with sauerkraut and it just didn’t work.
I don’t know if sauerkraut is on your food list but it is on mine and so I decided to be adventuresome and eat sauerkraut with whatever I had in my house. Looking around, I decided to try eating sauerkraut with chickpeas and tomatoes.
I heated up the sauerkraut and it just overpowered everything in my dish. Next time, I’m going to follow a recipe when creating a dish using sauerkraut, improvising didn’t work for me and I hate wasting food and time.
Because I couldn’t eat the dish, I ate a piece of bread with the leftover tomato, yellow bell pepper and some chickpeas chopped in the food processor (The spoon in the photo above).
